Functional safety with NORD SK 500E frequency inverters
48 BU 0530 GB-3712
SS1:
One safety output of the safety switching device is connected to a digital input (terminal block X5, terminals
21 ... 24). It is recommended that a shielded cable is used for this. The shield must be applied on both
sides!
The safe pulse block is connected to a delayed safety output of the safety switching device used (terminal
89 (24V_SH) and terminal 88 (GND_SH).
It is recommended that a separate shielded cable is used for this.
The shield must be applied on both sides!
The selected digital input must be assigned the „fast stop“ [11] function.
For the function SS1, the parameter P426 "fast stop time" and if necessary P559, "DC follow-on time" must
be parameterised according to the requirements of the application. The delay time of the delayed output of
the protective switching device must be rated so that it is longer than the fast stop time plus the DC follow-
on time.
The On/Off switching delay of the digital input must not be used: P475 [-0x] = 0 s!
According to the application, disabling of the safety function may cause a hazard, so that a monitored start
is necessary. In this case, the automatic start may not be used, P428 = "Off" [0].
NOTE
The additional 15V/24V output of the inverter (terminal block X8, terminal 86, 87) has been
provided for commissioning the inverter without a safety switching device. In this case, the
15V/24V can be directly connected to the 24V input voltage of the pulse block.
As delivered, terminals 87-88 and 86-89 are bridged in order to enable commissioning or
operation without the safety function (or without ext. 24V).
Validation
NOTE
It must be proven by suitable validation that the requirements for the specially intended
purpose have been met.
